POSE-A-THON TIMES SQUARE

I am fascinated by the many aspects of our pose-a-thon culture. It is the        natural byproduct of the current shift in photo/phone technology and it is
amazing just to consider the mind boggling volume of images made every second. I feel fortunate to live in such an active laboratory for research.
These images were gathered over the past few years and feature the
interactions between regular folks and the strikingly real wax figure
celebrities that pose outside as enticements at Madame Tussaud’s Wax
Museum on 42nd St. I might add that this place is the real thing, a true
gem in the (mostly) generic froth of Times Square today.

This last image is from Madam Tussaud's next door neighbor,
"Ripley's Believe it or Not", another bit of classic Times Square.

  1. Wonderful. Once again we see New York as the pinnacle of modern civilization. Thanks.
