Last December I posted a small batch of what appeared to be cave paintings or petroglyphs on a number of walls and construction sites in downtown Manhattan. The day after my post I got a response from a neighbor who recognized the work and knew the artist.  I inquired and a few days later took Robert Janz out for coffee.  He is eighty years old.
He refers to the work as "Glyffiti" "Our ancestors, living in wilderness, drew on stone in caves. I live in urban jungles, I draw on graffiti layered walls.  Contact with the deep past expands our inheritance and its potential."
