"POSE-A-PALOOZA" IN PHOTO-OP CITY
Pose-a-Palooza in Photo-op City. In this visually vibrant town, the options for recording
family and friends are seemingly limitless.

"BIRD CITY"
Last weekend our family went birding in Central Park and I was introduced to close up
views (via binoculars) of some of the magnificent creatures that pause in NYC on their long
journey north. I had never really enjoyed such intimate proximity to the yellow and black
markings of a magnolia warbler, the old blues of the indigo bunting, or the dazzling red of
a New York local, the cardinal.
These views by New York street artists are obviously not the birds we saw but they do reflect the need we all have, in spite of our dense urban world, to include animals in our environment.

POLITICAL GRAFFITI NYC
Political graffiti has always been an important presence in urban life. In honor of May Day, here's a small batch from the past couple of years…

DEAD HORSE BAY
A beautiful Sunday with salt air and sea breezes beckoning for a return trip to a favorite NYC outpost destination, Dead Horse Bay in Brooklyn. Named after the many rendering facilities that operated there in the 19th and early 20th century, it became the New York City dump until the mid 1950's. It is now part of the Gateway National Preserve.
As an amateur archeologist and lover of surreal juxtapositions, the fragments of culture that remain present a flotsam salad of continuously amazing combinations.

"JUXTO GEMS"
I often refer to the primal instinct that motivates so much of what I do as a New York
street photographer as "hunting and gathering". A special area of interest includes
the juxtapositional gems that occur with a "cast" of millions and a constantly changing
stage set.

"RAINY DAY ACTIVITIES"
My fascination with the ten second film format (gif) keeps pace with the short attention
span of modern culture. Enjoy this little "rainy day activity" from last week…
