HAND PAINTED SIGNS

As many long time followers of this Monday morning passel of pix
will know, I love hand painted signs, and have posted them more
             than a few times.

Here’s a recent handful from the past year or so…

NYC EASTER PARADE 2017

Easter Sunday 2017, and the annual Easter Parade is
inundated with fashion, frills, and frolics of every persuasion...

Trump crashes the Easter Parade and shows off his
(beleaguered) Eagle.

tiny dogs are really BIG!

When I asked how the Easter ears were selling, he answered
that it was worse than last years since Trump Tower closed
off traffic.

PITTSBURGH PA.

Recently, we had the good fortune of spending several days of Spring
break in the spirited and culturally rich city of Pittsburgh. We visited the
Carnegie and Warhol Museums as well as the (only) Center for Post
Natural History. The street culture is lively with a wealth of great graft,
good coffee, and many up and coming neighborhoods.

WORDS ON WALLS, CRYSTAL BALL

Now for something completely different.

One of my favorite sub-topics in the ongoing documentation of NYC street culture
has been “words on walls”. Over the past several months, I have been collaborating with two young friends: poet and producer, Marcus Fleming, and musician and coder, Brian Hurlow. Using an interactive website, we have come up with a piece of art that reflects these phrases and offers the possibility of a vision into the future via the mix of a traditional mechanism, the crystal ball, and a high tech roll of fortune on your computer or phone.  Enjoy!

Please note, there is a countdown clock of 1 minute for a friend or partner
to receive their fortune.

all best,
Ken

BALLOON PORTAGE

Balloon portage, what a job.…the primal attraction of a bright blast of colors is always a treat for the eyes, and it still rings true, especially against a gritty city background.
