Sometimes I come across a vacant lot with the vestiges of past lives imprinted on one or more of the adjacent walls. I call them "ghost apartments" and whether they were rent stabilized or market rate, these markings will no doubt slide into the mists of memory
in short order as they transform into modern condo towers. Meanwhile, it's fun to fantasize about the lives that may have transpired within those walls over the years…
I sometimes feel like an unintentional researcher for one of those zoological episodes on the National Geographic Channel and on various urban rambles have taken notice of the many small identifiable tribal groups, clusters, or gaggles (5 or more) in a single small geographical area.
ah summertime, and double decker billboard buses roll down the avenues and NYC turns into into an open air amusement park. I'll have to try this sometime, looks like fun.
