As a student of city streets and the images that pop up there, I am often amused by the 

frequent referencing of the animal kingdom in an urban environment.

GHOST APARTMENTS

Sometimes I come across a vacant lot with the vestiges of past lives imprinted on one or more of the adjacent walls. I call them "ghost apartments" and whether they were rent stabilized or market rate, these markings will no doubt slide into the mists of memory 

in short order as they transform into modern condo towers. Meanwhile, it's fun to fantasize about the lives that may have transpired within those walls over the years…
